Dogs can be prone to food intolerances. An intolerance can develop over time and can commonly result in diarrhoea, vomiting or itchy skin.

If your dog is displaying these symptoms then you should seek to provide a diet that is:

Hypoallergenic – a hypoallergenic food should not include the common “trigger” ingredients such as wheat gluten, soya and beef.

Limited to one single protein, for instance Lamb and just one single carbohydrate (for example rice) – this is recommended for sensitive tummies.

Packed full of digestible fibre. You need fibre to provide the optimum amount of bulk for firm stools and high absorption of vitamins and nutrients. For example beet pulp will help aid digestion and aid stool quality.

Burgess Supadog Sensitive is a complete dog food which has been formulated specifically for dogs with sensitive tummies.

These dog treats have been formulated to help maintain a healthy digestive system. By giving these treats every day you top up the good bacteria that occur naturally in your dogs digestive system and help to maintain the necessary healthy balance and support that their body needs for natural defences.

The product is 100% natural, hypoallergenic with no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. The product is also Wheat-Gluten free, contains omega 6 & 3 and is claimed to be good for teeth and gums.

I could only find the product in Lamb and Rice flavour for adult dogs, so not sure about other flavours. My dog (Cavalier King Charles) is a particularly fussy dog as far as treats and snacks go but seemed to take to them after a few minutes (when there was nothing else on offer:)). I get the the idea that she is ok with the taste but doesnt get the same excitement as when other snacks are offered.

Pack Details

Contains Over 35% Lamb Meat

Feelwell’s Probiotic Treats contain over 35% Lamb Meat Meal, we do not use offal or by products. Many manufacturers show ‘Lamb’ ‘Lamb Meal’ or ‘Lamb Digest’ in their ingredients list, which allows them to use any part of the Lamb. Feelwell’s only use Meat and that’s why our ingredients label states it, if it does not say Meat on the label it may not be Meat in the food. Using good quality Lamb Meat makes our treats more palatable.

Naturally Preserved

Feelwell’s Probiotic Treats are naturally preserved with Rosemary. We do not use any artificial colours, flavours or preservatives

Contains Omega 6 & 3

Feelwell’s Probiotic Treats contain the correct balance of Omega 3 & 6 essential fatty acids. Although dogs can produce Omega 3 & 6 fatty acids they do so very slowly and inefficiently so we add them to our treats. These polyunsaturated fatty acids help to keep their heart healthy, control blood pressure, boost immunity and help with mobility as well as improving skin and coat condition. The Omega 3 & 6 essential fatty acids that we use come from high quality fresh salmon oil and chicken oil.

Good for Teeth and Gums

Feelwell’s Probiotic Treats have been developed in conjunction with top nutritionists and breeders to ensure that they not only taste good but also the texture of the crunchy treat helps to clean the teeth and keep the gums healthy. Probiotics can also help with bad breath.

Wheat-Gluten Free

Feelwell’s Probiotic Treats are Wheat and Wheat gluten free, as these ingredients are known to be the most common cause of allergies in dogs.

Hypo-allergenic

Feelwell’s Probiotic Treats do not contain any Beef, Egg, Dairy, Pork, Wheat or Wheat Gluten, Soya or artificial colours, flavours or preservatives, as these are the most likely ingredients to cause an allergic reaction in dogs.

If you own a dog you will understand how complex they can be in terms of food and feeding.

If you own a dog you will understand how complex they can be in terms of food and feeding. Some dogs will eat anything and everything and have a digestive system that can cope with a really varied diet, whilst others will struggle to digest certain foods or will be so fussy they will go without food for days.

Before switching to a sensitive or “hypoallergenic” dog food you first need to determine which bracket your dog falls into. Do not confuse a fussy dog with a sensitive dog.

Does your dog display any of the following, common problems*:

Dry, flaky skin

Dull coat

Regular bouts of diarrhoea

Regular bouts of sickness

Excessive flatulence

These problems are common in dogs, with many owners thinking they are simply a normal part of dog ownership. However, it could be that one of more of the standard ingredients in your dogs food are the cause of the problem and by switching to a hypoallergenic complete food you could effectively remove these problems with the minimum of fuss.

Burgess Supadog Sensitive is a complete dog food for adult dogs made from the highest quality ingredients. Unlike other products within the range, Supadog Sensitive is free from wheat, maize, gluten, eggs, beef and dairy products (many of which can cause minor adverse reactions in dogs). British Lamb is the meat ingredient used (26%) within this product (chosen because it is lower in ash than other meats) and rice is the core carbohydrate, along with beet pulp which is proven to aid digestion.

*With any medical matters we would always recommend a visit to the vet
